Some excursion names require an explanation.
Mimosas, Mansions & Megayachts does not. 😂
This Palm Beach-area sightseeing experience is built around three things South Florida does particularly well:
- Beautiful water.
- Ridiculous real estate.
- And brunch drinks.
If you’re planning a Palm Beach getaway and want something fun that doesn’t require an entire day, this is exactly the kind of activity worth putting on your radar. You get gorgeous waterfront views, a peek at some of Palm Beach’s most impressive homes and yachts, and a relaxing cruise that can slide easily into the rest of your itinerary.
Why This Works So Well for Palm Beach
Palm Beach is one of those destinations where simply looking around can be part of the entertainment.
You’ve got beautiful waterfront homes.
- Mega-yachts.
- Luxury hotels.
- Palm trees.
- Blue water.
- Historic architecture.
And the occasional property that makes you quietly wonder whether the garage has more square footage than your entire house.
A sightseeing cruise gives you a completely different perspective than driving around town.
You’re not stuck in traffic.
You’re not trying to figure out where you can legally park.
And you don’t have to keep pulling over every five minutes because somebody spotted another gorgeous home.
You can simply sit back and take it all in from the water.
That’s especially appealing if this is your first visit to Palm Beach because it helps you see why the area has such a reputation for luxury.
It’s Giving Girls’ Trip Energy
This experience immediately stood out to me as a strong fit for a girls’ trip.
Why?
Because it’s social without requiring a ton of effort.
You can get dressed up a little.
Take cute pictures.
Sip something.
Talk.
Laugh.
Look at mansions you definitely didn’t come to purchase.
Then move right into lunch or brunch afterward.
It feels like an actual vacation activity without demanding that everyone in the group be athletic, adventurous or willing to spend hours in the sun.
And if you’ve ever traveled with a group, you already know how valuable that is.
One person wants adventure.
One person wants to sit down.
One person brought three outfits and intends to be photographed in all of them.
One person is hungry every 45 minutes.
This kind of cruise gives everybody a little something.
Couples Could Easily Make This a Date
It could also make a really easy date-day addition.
You could start with the cruise, have lunch somewhere nearby, walk around Palm Beach and finish with dinner or cocktails later.
It works especially well if you like the idea of a romantic activity but don’t necessarily want something overly formal. Plus you get a beautiful backdrop without having to manufacture the moment.
It Could Also Work for Birthdays and Bachelorette Weekends
If you’re celebrating something, this kind of excursion gives you a built-in centerpiece for the day.
Instead of everybody asking:
“So…what are we doing?”
You already have one memorable activity on the schedule. And because the scenery is already doing half the work, you also get plenty of photo opportunities without paying for a private photo shoot.
What Could You Pair It With?
You could easily turn this into a full Palm Beach day without making things complicated.
Start with the cruise.
Then head to lunch or brunch.
After that, browse Worth Avenue, walk around the area, visit the beach or stop for drinks somewhere nearby.
Later, go back to your hotel, change, and head out for dinner.
That’s a pretty full day without feeling rushed.
And if you’re staying somewhere with a nice pool, you could just as easily make the afternoon:
Cruise.
Lunch.
Pool.
Nap.
Dinner.
I support this version, too.
😂
What Should You Wear?
This is one of those activities where I’d go for cute but comfortable.
Think:
- Sundress
- Cute romper
- Linen set
- Casual resort wear
- Flat sandals or wedges you can walk in
- Sunglasses
- Light sweater or wrap if you get cold easily
Remember that you’re going to be on a boat.
That means wind.
So if your outfit depends on everything staying perfectly in place, you may want to reconsider.
Also, check the operator’s current dress and footwear recommendations before you go.
What Should You Bring?
You probably don’t need much.
I’d keep it simple:
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Phone or camera
- Portable charger
- Small crossbody bag
- Light layer
- Water, if permitted
And obviously, if drinks are part of the experience you’re booking, review exactly what’s included before you show up.
Policies, menus and beverage offerings can change.
Is It Worth It?
That depends on what you’re looking for.
If you want adrenaline, this probably isn’t the excursion for you.
If you’re looking for jet skis, parasailing or something physically adventurous, there are better options.
But if you want something that feels:
Relaxing.
Social.
Scenic.
Easy.
And very Palm Beach…
this makes a lot of sense.
You’re not really paying for a complicated activity.
You’re paying for the setting, the views and the experience of being out on the water.
And sometimes that’s exactly what you want on vacation.
Who Might Love This Most?
I’d put this near the top of the list for:
- Girls’ trips
- Birthday weekends
- Couples
- Bachelorette groups
- Palm Beach day trips
- Mother-daughter trips
- Friends visiting from out of town
- South Florida staycations
- Anyone who says, “We need something cute to do before brunch”
It also works well for travelers who want a memorable experience without anything physically demanding.
A Few Things to Check Before Booking
Before you purchase tickets, verify the current:
- Departure time
- Duration
- Boarding location
- Drink inclusions
- Age requirements
- Cancellation policy
- Weather policy
- Parking instructions
Boat excursions can be affected by weather, so give yourself a little flexibility.
And if you’re building a tight itinerary around the cruise, I’d avoid scheduling something expensive immediately afterward in case boarding or return times shift slightly.
OYHT Take
This is the kind of easy, low-effort vacation activity I particularly like.
You don’t need athletic ability.
You don’t need an entire day.
You don’t need to organize a group itinerary with twelve moving parts.
You get on the boat.
You look at pretty things.
You sip your drink.
Somebody else worries about navigation.
Vacation.
And in a place like Palm Beach, where the scenery itself is part of the attraction, that may be more than enough.
If your ideal getaway involves beautiful views, good conversation, a little luxury and plenty of time left in the day for food, shopping or the beach, Mimosas, Mansions & Megayachts could fit very nicely into your plans.
Heads up: This article was written using info available in August 2026. New reviews may be added at any time, and prices, schedules or inclusions may change. Weather conditions and wildlife sightings, where applicable, are never guaranteed. So don’t blame me 🙃
